Family Connects Oregon
Free nurse home visits for your newborn.
Babies don’t come with an instruction manual. Family Connects Oregon can fill in the gaps. The Family Connects Oregon program supports parents by linking nurses, community resources, and families. Our mission is to connect you with resources that nurture your whole family and support your child, planting seeds for the future.
The first few days and weeks home with a new baby can be a challenging time for all families, and research indicates that more than 90 percent of families can use some additional support. Family Connects Oregon nurses are trained to answer your questions and connect you with the support you need.
Family Connect Nurses partner with families to provide:
- 1-3 postpartum visits at around 3 weeks of age
- Maternal and newborn assessment
- Lactation support
- Postpartum and newborn education
- Linkages to maternal mental health support and other resources
Family Connects Oregon builds on Oregon’s current home visiting programs and will offer home visiting to all families with newborns. It is a voluntary, opt-in program. No families are required to participate.
