Emergency Preparedness
Working together to be resilient.
At Health Services, we develop emergency response plans to natural and man-made situations that could affect our community, anticipating various health issues that could arise in different scenarios, from weather events to disease outbreaks.
This isn’t something we do alone. Our public health team plays a critical part in responding to local events that involve health issues, but preparedness and prevention require numerous partners, including local, state and federal agencies, to respond to to large-scale health events quickly and efficiently. We coordinate with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, members of other counties, and the State of Oregon, working to establish unified emergency preparedness plans and enhance cooperation between agencies.
Prepare yourself and your family
It’s important that all community members be prepared for any emergency. Having a minimum three-day emergency supply kit is highly recommended. Learn how to prepare an emergency supply kit at ready.gov today.
Families also need to have a plan in place to manage emergency situations. For more information go to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and American Red Cross.

Volunteer to Help in an Emergency
The Linn County Medical Reserve Corps (LCMRC) is a team of volunteers who provide extra personnel in the event of a public health emergency or disaster. Volunteers come from a variety of professional backgrounds (from medical to administrative), and are trained by the LCMRC in emergency preparedness and response activities.
For more information on joining the Medical Reserve Corps, please contact the Unit Coordinator at 541-967-3888 or register online with the State Emergency Registry of Volunteers in Oregon.
