Primary series:
CDC recommends everyone ages 6 months and older get a COVID-19 vaccine to help protect against COVID-19 infection.
- Pfizer: 5 years and older: two-dose series; 6 months to 4 years: three-dose series.
- Moderna: 6 months and older: two dose series.
- Novavax: 12 years and older: two dose series.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 you should get a test about 5 days after the last contact with the person who has COVID-19, even if you have been vaccinated. There is a wide range of symptoms of COVID-19 that you may have, or no symptoms at all. The symptoms can include: fever, chills, cough, fatigue, body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.

Confirmed or Presumptive for Covid-19? Here’s what to do:
- Isolate – Stay home and avoid close contact with others.
- Notify your close contacts. Most people exposed to COVID-19, close contacts no longer need to quarantine. However, close contacts should be aware of their potential to become infected and infect others around them. Pay Attention by:
- Monitor for COVID-19 like symptoms for 10 days after their last exposure.*
- Staying home and get tested if symptoms develop.
- Wearing a well-fitting mask around other people for the 10 days following their last exposure.
- Considering testing approximately five days after their exposure.
- Following guidance for isolation if they test positive or develop COVID-19 symptoms
- *Monitoring yourself for symptoms of COVID-19 could include but is not limited to: Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
When is it safe to leave home?
- At least 24 hours have passed after you last had a fever (without using medicine to reduce your fever); and COVID-19 symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea) are getting better; and
- At least 5 days have passed since the first day you got sick or since your first positive test for COVID-19.
- If you are unable to wear a mask when around others during 6-10 days of your isolation period, you should complete a 10-day isolation period at home instead.
- Some exceptions apply to Health Care Workers

Treatment Options for COVID-19
Tested Positive for Covid-19? Want treatment? Treatments are available for people with certain health conditions like chronic lung disease or cancer are at higher risk for hospitalization or death from COVID-19 infection, as are people older than 65.
- COVID-19 medications are now available through your doctor, local pharmacies, and health clinics.
- If you have COVID-19 symptoms and test positive, do not wait to get treated.
- You must take oral COVID-19 medication within 5 days of your first COVID-19 symptoms.
Conditions that increase risk for severe COVID-19 include, but are not limited to:
- Type 1 or 2 diabetes
- Depression or schizophrenia
- Chronic lung or heart diseases, including moderate to severe asthma
- Cancer
- Dementia or other neurological conditions
- Down syndrome
- Cystic fibrosis
- Obesity
- Pregnancy
- Age may be a factor that contributes to higher risk.
